Well to practice fursuit making you need to invest money. A lot of money. But there are some tricks to safe money.
Practice sculpting when you want to make your claws/ nose/ jawset yourself. But you don’t need the professional stuff for practicing. I love super sculpey for example, It’s cheap, it’s long lasting and it’s easy to work with.
Practice sewing with cheap fabric or cheap fur. I would prefer fur because it behave different from normal fabrics. But normal fabrics are great for pattern testing. Go to a fabric store and grab cheap leftovers. In my store you can get 3 meter of ugly motive fabric for about 5 bucks. It looks awful but you are not going to use it outside so it doesn’t matter.
And for foam, if you want to make a foam head. Go and have a look on ebay for ecample. I get a huge 1,50m x 2,5m pile of 5cm thick foam for around 30bucks. You get a lot of heads, feet, paddings out of such a big thing
Wow good tips!! Thanks!!
There’s a lovely old English myth that if someone who truely loved and trusted the werewolf called it by name that it would turn back to human.
Others include throwing their human clothes at it and it’d turn back but that’s a bit less romantic
